PITTSBURGH, May 18, 2016 — ChemImage Sensor Systems (CISS™) announced that they will offer live demonstrations of their newest product, the ChemImage VeroVision™ Mail Screener, at the upcoming American Jail Association’s 34th Annual Conference & Jail Expo in Austin, Texas from May 22 – 24, 2016. The ChemImage VeroVision Mail Screener is a non-contact imaging device designed to detect concealed illicit drug substances that are sent through the mail. The capabilities of the product will be displayed at the CISS exhibit at booth #200.
The ChemImage VeroVision Mail Screener features a simple, one-click user interface that allows the operator to quickly and efficiently scan mail. Within seconds, the presence of an illicit drug and/or common cutting agent that may be hidden in a mail item is confirmed. These detections are presented to the user in a simple interface which allows for report generation, inclusive of images.
The instrument utilizes advanced acquisition and processing methods to detect the presence of illicit substances within the articles of mail entering correctional facilities. The ChemImage VeroVision Mail Screener uses innovative imaging spectrometers that incorporate unique sensor technology to target chemical information that can be specifically visualized in the near-infrared (NIR) spectrum. This highly effective method therefore facilitates detection of illicit substances on surfaces as well as concealed under stamps, stickers and labels; mixed with paint, glue, markers and crayon; and hidden in envelope seams, creases and adhesives.
In addition to providing demonstrations and detailing the product’s benefits as a part of the conference expo, ChemImage Sensor Systems will host a private hospitality event after sessions on Monday, May 23, 2016. Corrections community key opinion leaders who are attending the conference have been invited to the CISS event for a fun-filled night of Texas BBQ, exciting entertainment and other surprises to celebrate the continued success of the VeroVision Mail Screener.
