PITTSBURGH, June 4, 2014 — ChemImage Sensor Systems (CISS™) is featuring its new portable standoff SWIR hyperspectral imaging (HSI) explosives detection system, VeroVision™ at the International Association of Bomb Technicians and Investigators (IABTI) 2014 International Training Conference (ITC), being held June 9 – 13, 2014 in Reno, NV. In addition to VeroVision™, a complete range of products for standoff explosives detection will be featured including the LightGuard™ fixed-site standoff SWIR HSI explosives system and the STARR SWIR/Raman dual mode standoff detection system designed to be deployed on the TALON® EOD robot.
“CISS™ has developed a line of standoff hyperspectral imaging sensors based on both SWIR and Raman technologies to improve the ability of bomb technicians and investigators to characterize a suspicious device to allow a more informed plan for disposal.” stated Matthew P. Nelson, Ph.D., Chief Scientist and Business Director. “But in addition to better information, our standoff capability puts the bomb technician further away for the suspected bomb and thus, further away from the danger. We see this improved operator safety as maybe the greatest feature of CISS™ standoff detection.”
“Attending the IABTI ITC gives us the opportunity to make bomb technicians aware of the advantages of standoff detection and to collect more information on the products and functionality that this user community really needs” says Steven Mitts, Director, Corporate Strategy & Business Development at ChemImage.
