PITTSBURGH, April 16, 2014 — ChemImage Sensor Systems (CISS) announces that Matthew P. Nelson, Ph.D, Chief Scientist and CISS Business Director will be presenting innovative results of the company’s work on a portable standoff Hyperspectral Imaging (HSI) for detecting and identifying explosives, chemicals and narcotics at the SPIE Defense, Security and Sensing (SPIE DSS) meeting in Baltimore, MD.
Dr. Nelson’s talk entitled, “Continued Development of a Portable Widefield Hyperspectral Imaging Sensor for Standoff Detection of Explosive, Chemical and Narcotic Residues” will be presented during the “Spectroscopy and Imaging for Explosives Detection I” session (Session 4 of Conference 9073) on Wednesday, May 7 in Room 348 of the Baltimore Convention Center. His discussion will provide attendees with an overview of the progress CISS is making in the development of VeroVision™, the next generation small, portable standoff HSI sensor.
“This presentation describes the work CISS is undertaking towards building a commercial HSI sensor platform for the detection of explosives, hazardous chemicals and narcotics. VeroVision™ will leverage all of CISS’s experience in HSI to provide reliable detection of a wide variety of threats” said Dr. Nelson.”
SPIE DSS is the industry’s most important scientific conference and exhibition on optics, infrared imaging, lasers, and sensing for defense, security, industry, healthcare, and the environment.
