PITTSBURGH, February 29, 2016 — ChemImage Sensor Systems (CISS™) announced that they will offer live demonstrations of their newest product, the VeroVision™ Mail Screener, at the Western State Sheriffs’ Association (WSSA) Annual Conference & Training in Reno, Nevada on March 1st and 2nd. The capabilities of the VeroVision Mail Screener will be displayed to hundreds of participants in attendance at the conference, comprised mainly of sheriffs and their command staff from 15 Western States that include Washington, Wyoming, Oregon, Utah, Idaho, California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Colorado, Montana, Texas and Oklahoma.
The VeroVision Mail Screener scans articles of mail, and detects illicit drugs and common cutting agents. The product utilizes near infrared hyperspectral imaging technology to detect hidden illicit drug substances. The VeroVision Mail Screener features a simple, one-click user interface that allows the operator to scan mail within seconds and clearly confirm the presence of illicit drug substances. Using shortwave infrared light, the system can reveal what is invisible to the human eye. The system incorporates advanced acquisition and processing methods to detect illicit substances and displays the detections to the mail screener.
“We are very excited to demonstrate the capabilities of the VeroVision Mail Screener at the Western State Sheriffs’ Annual Conference. As a retired Undersheriff for a California County, I’m well aware of the potential for dangerous situations that can occur in facilities when drugs are concealed in inmate mail. We offer an innovative solution to combat this issue and keep both the staff and inmate population safe,” said Robert Levy, Territory Manager for ChemImage Sensor Systems.
