PITTSBURGH, January 21, 2016 — ChemImage Sensor Systems (CISS™) announced that they will offer live demonstrations of their newest product, the VeroVision™ Mail Screener, at the upcoming American Correctional Association 2016 Winter Conference in New Orleans from January 24 – 26, 2016. The VeroVision Mail Screener utilizes hyperspectral imaging technology to detect hidden illicit drug substances that may be concealed in the mail. The capabilities of the product will be displayed at the CISS exhibit at booth #911.
VeroVision Mail Screener scans articles of mail, and detects illicit drugs and common cutting agents by detecting and highlighting the presence of unknown substances that may be hidden in a sample. The system features a simple, one-click user interface that allows the operator to scan mail within seconds and clearly confirm the presence of illicit drug substances. These detections are presented to the user in a simple interface which allows for report generation, inclusive of images.
The instrument utilizes advanced acquisition and processing methods to detect the presence of illicit substances within the articles of mail entering correctional facilities Using innovative imaging spectrometers incorporating a unique sensor technology, this method is highly effective as it targets chemical information that can be specifically visualized in the near-infrared (NIR) spectrum.
In addition to providing demonstrations and detailing the product’s benefits as a part of the conference expo, ChemImage Sensor Systems will host a private hospitality event after sessions on Monday, January 25, 2016. Key opinion leaders in the corrections community who are attending the conference have been invited to the CISS event for a fun-filled night of excitement and other surprises to celebrate the launch of the VeroVision Mail Screener, which specializes in revealing the unseen.
